Abingdon Wednesday 5 a side - NEW SEASON

The Abingdon Wednesday 5 a side football league season kicked off with a bang last night.  The league, which saw teams from across the region participate, is divided into three divisions; Premier League, Division 1, and Division 2.

In the Premier League, Goring GOBs displayed an outstanding performance as they dominated the pitch, finishing with an impressive 11 - 2 victory over Alfredians. The game between FCUOB and Basically Barca was a nail-biter, with the former putting up a good fight but ultimately falling short as the latter emerged victorious with a 6 - 4 win. Meanwhile, Botleys Finest struggled to keep up with Botley Wanderers, who triumphed with a dominant 9 - 1 victory.

Division 1 also saw some thrilling matches, with The Mighty Ducks coming out on top with a 6 - 4 win over Abingdons Finest. Slough Posse FC and Ashburton Army battled it out, with the former clinching a 5 - 3 victory. Outer Milan dominated Black And White FC with a 5 - 1 win, making them a team to watch out for this season.

In Division 2, Ale Stars put on an impressive show with an 8 - 4 win against Wedding Cake United. Serious Heat and Ball Of Duty put up a closely contested match, but it was Serious Heat who emerged victorious with a 10 - 7 win. OGM FC won by the skin of their teeth with a 7 - 6 victory over Maragonna.
