The much-anticipated Abingdon Wednesday 5-a-side Football League kicked off last night, marking the start of a new season filled with thrill, skill, and goal-scoring prowess.

In the Premier League, 'The Mighty Ducks' swooped to victory over 'Basically Barca' in a tightly contested match, ending 5-4. The match was a display of the tactical genius that the league promises this season. 'Ed Morey Driving School FC' took the helm with an impressive 8-0 victory over 'Serious Heat,' demonstrating their formidable offence. The pulsating duel between 'Maragonna' and 'Holdmybeer' saw the latter seal a 4-3 win in a gripping encounter.

Over to Division 1, 'FCUOB' and 'Ale Stars' shared the spoils in a high-scoring 5-5 draw. We were also treated to an electrifying match as 'OGM FC' and 'Borussia Snortmund' locked horns, with each team scoring eight goals apiece in a thrilling standoff.

Division 2 saw 'TerryBell FC' triumph over 'AFC Deez Whites' with a 7-5 victory, while 'Slough Posse FC' managed to edge past 'JET FC,' winning 7-4 in a closely-fought match. 'Real SoSoBad' also showed their mettle and secured a 4-2 win over 'Park The Airbus.'

As expected, the first week of the league showcased some fantastic individual performances. The Mighty Ducks' striker emerged as the top goal scorer for the Premier League, while OGM FC's forward led the Division 1 scoring charts. Meanwhile, the standout performer from Division 2 was TerryBell FC's attacking midfielder.
