A thrilling set of matches unfolded last night in week 3 of the Abingdon Wednesday Football League, seeing intense play across the Premier League, Division 1, and Division 2.

In the Premier League, Basically Barca came out on top, stunning Serious Heat with a decisive 4-1 victory. Maragonna put up a good fight, but couldn't fend off The Mighty Ducks who soared to a 7-3 win. Holdmybeer, however, held nothing back, getting the better of Ed Morey Driving School FC with a 7-3 scoreline.

Meanwhile, in Division 1, OGM FC ran riot over Ale Stars, bagging an impressive 8-3 win. In the closest match of the evening, Hangover 96 edged out FCUOB in a nail-biting contest, clinching a 5-4 victory.

Over in Division 2, AFC Deez Whites outclassed Slough Posse FC with a 9-4 triumph. JET FC also had a good night, completing a clean 3-0 sweep over Park The Airbus.

All in all we were treated to a night of exciting, high-octane football, with the Abingdon Wednesday League once again proving why it’s a midweek favourite for the local sports community.
