NEW SEASON STARTS 23rd APRIL

In the ninth week of the Abingdon Wednesday 5-a-side Football League, the athletic prowess of the competing teams was on full display, with some noteworthy performances that have reshaped the standings across various divisions.

In the Premier League, Ballotellitubies stole the show with a resounding 12-5 victory over Basically Barca. The team's offensive firepower was too much for their opponents to handle, and they now sit comfortably at the top of the table. In another thrilling game, Spraggys Chopper FC outscored Tedrooney Gfc 14-7, providing a well-deserved boost to their goal difference.

Over in Division 1, Shy Teds FC and FCUOB demonstrated their skill and determination, scoring some crucial wins. FCUOB dominated the pitch against Hangover 96 with a 12-4 victory, while Shy Teds FC narrowly overcame Maragonna with a 4-3 win. The match between Park The Airbus and Shaggers United, however, turned into a one-sided affair as Shaggers United emerged victorious with a 9-0 win.

Finally, in Division 2, Spoonies FC put on a dazzling display to trounce Slough Posse FC 7-1. This victory cements their position as one of the top contenders in the division, with their eyes set firmly on the season title.

While every team displayed commendable sportsmanship and skill, the match-winning performances were led by the top scorers of each division; players whose outstanding skill and precision stood out throughout the night. As the season progresses, we eagerly await to see if these top-performing teams can maintain their momentum. The Abingdon Wednesday league continues to deliver exciting matchups, displaying the best of local football talent.

Our season concludes next Wednesday which means the brand new campaign kicks off the following week on Wednesday 23rd April. We are now taking applications for new teams to jump onboard and be part of this exciting, fast paced 5 a side league in Abingdon.
