BALLOTELLITUBIES CHAMPIONS OF ABINGDON

In an exhilarating conclusion to the Abingdon Wednesday 5-a-side football league, the top teams from three divisions – Premier League, Division 1, and Division 2 – battled it out in spectacular fashion.

In a dramatic week 10 showdown in the Premier League, a high-scoring affair saw Ballotellitubies demolish Spraggys Chopper FC 11-6, making them the undisputed champions of the Premier League. With a total of 18 points and 9 wins to their name, they proved their mettle and emerged victorious in a league of their own.

Meanwhile, The Mighty Ducks showcased an impressive performance against Basically Barca, winning 9-5, but this wasn't enough to dethrone Ballotellitubies from their winning streak.

In Division 1, an intense match saw FCUOB drawing 3-3 against Park The Airbus. However, FCUOB's overall performance saw them take the Division 1 title with a total of 15 points and seven wins. Shaggers United also put up a noteworthy performance by overcoming Maragonna 9-3, demonstrating the competitive spirit of the division.

Division 2 saw a nail-biting match between Ale Stars and Slough Posse FC, with the latter edging out a victory with a 4-3 win. But the ultimate glory in Division 2 went to The B480, who ended their season on a high after defeating JET FC 6-5. Amassing a total of 19 points with nine wins, The B480 stood tall as the Division 2 champions.

The high-scoring games witnessed in the final week of the season underlined the conquests of Ballotellitubies, FCUOB, and The B480 in their respective divisions. The sportsmanship, competitive spirit, and zeal displayed by all teams throughout the season were commendable, and we can't wait for the next season of the Abingdon Wednesday 5-a-side Football League.

As always it's a massive thank you to the team captains for organising their sides and of course to the team of officials who manage our games each week. Without our refs these games just wouldn't happen so thanks again for the effort through the season. 

We go again with a brand new season starting next Wednesday 23rd April and we look forward to seeing all our teams along with any new ones that feel ready to take up the challenge.
