New Abingdon Wednesday 5 a side season kicks off!

The highly anticipated football league, Abingdon Wednesday, has kicked off with a thrilling start. With a total of three divisions; Premier League, Division 1, and Division 2, week 1 witnessed a volley of goals, setting the pace for the rest of the season.

PREMIER LEAGUE

In the Premier League, The Mighty Ducks started strong, edging out Ballotellitubies with a score of 9-7. Tedrooney GFC put up a valiant fight, but fell short against Basically Barca, who claimed victory with a 7-5 win. Spraggys Chopper FC dominated the field with an impressive 10-4 victory over Big Justice FC to kick off their title defence with a win.

DIVISION ONE

In Division 1, FCUOB put up a stellar performance, with a resounding 11-2 victory over Shy Teds FC, making them the top scorers in their division. Hangover 96 emerged victorious against Shaggers United with a 7-5 scoreline. Maragonna rounded off the division's games with a convincing 7-3 victory over Park The Airbus.

DIVISION TWO

Division 2 was not short of action either. The B480 kicked off the season with a striking 6-1 victory over Ale Stars. Spoonies FC also notched up a commendable 11-5 win over JET FC, placing them at the top of the division’s scoring chart. Slough Posse FC displayed a dominant performance with a 9-0 victory over Pickle FC.

It's clear that the season has kicked off on a high note, with teams already battling fiercely for the top spots in their respective divisions. The performance of these teams has set the stage for what promises to be an exhilarating season of football. We are already looking forward to next week's matches.
