Despite the somewhat sombre mood of the nation this week, our Wednesday night teams all gave their all at our Abingdon 5 a side league last night. Thank you to all the players and staff for observing a minutes silence in memory of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II before we kicked off.
We had a number of good games last night and welcomed a new side who's registration was completed just in time for them to join Division One and join us for match night 4 of the season.
In the Prem there was a 10 - 6 win for Botley Wanderers and 5 - 0 pints wins for Basically Barca and Socios while we still continue to push for a new side to join the top flight. If you think your team has what it takes to compete in this division, just sign up now for £5 and we will have you playing next Wednesday.
3 teams sit on 6 points in Division One with the top two meeting last night. Mighty Ducks just did enough to beat Maragonna while RMT got the better of Wenger Boys in a classic that ended 8 - 7. New boys Spraggy's Chopper settled in perfectly with a 5 - 2 win against Goring GOB's so with this division full now and only 4 weeks played it's going to be an exciting race for the top flight.
Ale Stars are one of 3 teams on 6 points in Division Two but their healthy goal difference sets them apart, helped by a 5 - 0 points win this week, Slough Posse move up the table with the same result as Savills weren't available and Bagotelli made progress with a big win over Serious Heat who still search for their 1st points of the campaign.
So a good round of games, thank you to the captains for getting your sides ready and of course to Dean and his team of refs for managing the night.
Have a good week guys and good luck next Wednesday.
