NEW WEDNESDAY 5 A SIDE SEASON STARTS

So good to have another new season underway in Abingdon. Our 3 divisions of 5 a side relaunched last night with a few new teams and plenty of old faces as well. 

Kicking off in the Prem we saw current champions Exeter Gently get off to a winning start with a 5 - 2 victory over Pathletico Madrid while Socios came out on top in a high scoring game with Div One Champions Murder on Zidanes Floor, winning 11 - 8 in the end. New side Abingdons FC came up just short against Silly Biggers who start with a 6 - 5 win. 

Division One saw last season's Div Two champions Wenby Athletic get off to a flying start with a 14 - 5 win over Nice Guys while Saka Potatoes took a 7 - 4 win from their game with Ale Stars. Unfortunately Chamakh didn't make it so Slough Posse start with a points win. 

Division Two looks like it could be a cracker this season with tight games in all three matches. Maragonna fought hard against Basically Barca but just came up short as Barca took the win 9 - 8 while it was equally as dramatic for Unremarkables and Goals Allowed who shared a 15 goal thriller, Goals Allowed just nudging in front to take it 8 - 7. The Mighty Duck sit top after their 12 - 8 win over FCUOB, 52 goals in 3 games in this division alone, some night to kick off the new season. It's going to be an entertaining ride through to the end of March, make sure your teams are ready, this is going to be a great season!
