It was good to see a couple of teams back at Abingdon Wednesday 5 a side last night although we still have a couple off. The self-isolation rules are changing soon and things are already starting to look up from when we had 6 or 7 teams missing a couple of weeks ago so lot's to be positive about and at least we are still playing each week.
Bayern Neverlosen produced one of the performances of the day as they held top of the table Hagdons to a 5-5 draw in the Premier League. The draw gave the chasing pack a chance to close the gap to just a point. Kogs's Angels had a points match win with The More not available this week while third place and former leaders Shakter who have been off for a couple of weeks returned to beat Wellers 4-3 and move to within two points of Hagdons. Ye Mon also picked up a points match win due to the space in the Prem. Any new teams can join now and take the place for next week.
Crouchy United kept themselves on top of Div 1 with a 9-4 victory against Chamakh My Pitch Up where they are joined by Spread The Play who are level on point in second after their points match win, unfortunately Inter Girls couldn't make it at late notice but thank you for getting your match fee paid on time and see you next week. Nice Guys Finish Last are up to third place just a point off the promotion places as they won 6-1 against Jezzys while a mid table clash between The Mighty Ducks and Queens Park Hydrangeas ended in a 3-3 draw.
We have new leaders in Div 2 as Slough Posse went top of the table with an impressive 3-1 win over Exeter Gently. They will be hoping to build on their good start to the season next week when they take on third place Club De Cot who enjoyed a 9-2 win over Unremarkables FC. Pathetico Madrid are up to second as they were handed a points match win with Kipsta not able to return until next week while the match of the day saw Murder On Zidanes Floor win an 11 goal thriller against Ale Starts 6-5.
Thank you to all our teams and to our match night supervisor Dean along with refs Tom, Ollie and Ian. See you all next week.
