Sunday 10th September - University of Worcester Round-Up

It was a fantastic evening's football in the University of Worcester Sunday 6 a side league, with all teams in attendance for their matches across both divisions, and some superb football on display, with some huge results in the title race for both divisions!

In the Premier League, Haller You Kante outflanked CHAMPS FC with an impressive 4-2 scoreline to boost their survival hopes.  SEATS R US stole the spotlight with a stunning 5-0 triumph over Maradona Kebab, keeping their title aspirations alive going into the final week.. In another decisive victory, 6 Offenders put 4 past PLJ FC without reply.

Game of the night in the Premier Division was undoubtedly the matchup between Worcester Team and Injured FC.  As the business end of the season approaches and being the penultimate round of games, this was a must win for both teams.  Worcester Team put in a very professional performance and ran out 2-0 winners over Injured FC, a result which was just the tonic for the now league leaders as their goal difference is inferior to that of Injured, so a win was vital.

Injured FC and Seats R Us meet in the final game of the season, meaning Worcester Team must avoid defeat to a tricky Haller You Kante if they want to take the title, otherwise the winner of that tie would take the trophy.

Over in Division 1, the 6IX OFFENDERS overpowered Not In Your Mums Forest with a 6-2 victory. Brom FC edged out a win over Leek In Defence with a narrow 3-2 scoreline. Meanwhile, 2 Left Feet managed to keep LEAVEMEARSELONA at bay, wrapping up the match at 3-1.

The title race in Division One is one that is going to the final whistle of the season too.  Crapoli sat on top of the pile at kick off, ahead of Haller You Kante 2 by two points.  A point would've almost done the job for Crapoli and would've left their destiny in their own hands going into the final game.  However, Kante had other ideas and they put in a stellar performance to run out 3-1 victors and put themselves top on goal difference going into the last week.  Crapoli line up at 6pm next week, and Kante at 6:30pm so it'll be an interesting evening!

Though there were many standout performances, the top scorers of each division clinched the limelight. In the Premier League, Haller You Kante and 6 Offenders led the attack with 4 goals each. SEATS R US took the crown with an outstanding 5 goal performance. In Division 1, 6IX OFFENDERS stood out with a remarkable 6 goal haul, while Brom FC, 2 Left Feet, and Haller You Kante 2 scored 3 goals each in their respective matches.

The 13th week of Worcester Sunday was a testament to the intensity, skill, and passion that runs deep within both the Premier League and Division 1. As the season progresses, we look forward to more thrilling matches and exceptional performances.
