In the exciting world of 6-a-side football, the Canvey Island Monday league kicked off its first week of the new season with some thrilling matches across its three divisions: Premier League, Division 1, and Division 2.

In the Premier League, the first game of the season saw Thorney Bay FC narrowly defeated by Bang Average in a 4-3 thriller. Meanwhile, the BTD showed their prowess against The Canvey Cartel with a solid 4-1 victory. Neil FC edged out Talwin Fc 1-0 in a tightly contested match. Scooby Snacks FC demonstrated a strong start to their campaign by comfortably defeating the Reliable Rock Rovers 4-1.

The Division 1 fixtures were equally exciting, with Sliding Uphill FC sweeping past 8 BALL with a 6-2 win. Real Mcdrid showed their dominance with a 4-0 shutout against Almirons Army. Pepsi Rangers scraped a 1-0 victory against Dels Super Heros, while Goals N Girls edged past Norfolk ‘N’ Chance in a 4-3 thriller. Murder On Zidanes Floor ended the night with a 4-2 victory against Madeline Milan.

In Division 2, Balds Army started the season with a commanding 7-2 win over Livs Army. Mcgeezers secured a 3-1 victory over Airtec FC, while Castle Point Rangers managed a slim 3-2 win over Large Lunch FC. Diabetico Madrid rounded off the evening, comfortably beating Getafeme Mason 3-0.

Top scorers for each division were recorded from Balds Army, Sliding Uphill FC and Scooby Snacks FC, setting the bar high from week one. As the season unfolds, we look forward to seeing how these teams will perform and which new stars will rise in the Canvey Island Monday league.
