Hull 6-a-side League Update
After an expected extension to the current Coronavirus lockdown measures in the UK on the 16th April for at least a further three weeks, our leagues remain suspended until further notice.
A "Traffic Light" system is believed to be in the pipeline which will see a three phase plan of bringing the country out of the current lockdown.
The first red phase will see a partial lift where small shops, hairdressers, warehouses and potentially nurseries reopen. The second phase, amber, could see some businesses and - of most significance to us at Leisure Leagues, is schools, colleges and universities reopening. These educational establishments with attached leisure facilities, MUGA, artificial pitches etc may potentially be opened in conjunction with the schools.
We are therefore hopeful that we can soon return to normality with our leagues but as always we will keep you updated as and when there are relevant updates.
A recent study from a leading professional at the University of Virginia, Professor Zhen Yan has "strongly supported" the need for individuals to remain active even when the lockdown restrictions are lifted.
His research concluded that exercise releases an antioxidant capable of preventing or reducing the severity of acute respiratory distress syndrome - the most extreme outcome of a COVID-19 infection.
We therefore feel that Leisure Leagues will undoubtedly be a contributor to the overall health of the nation when it is safe to return to action and playing football again.
In preparation for our return to action during the next couple of months we want to adopt a contactless basis for all of our leagues. We would therefore ask you to ensure your team profiles are up to date with the correct captain and vice captains details on the system and that you are able to log in. From here you will be able to pay for your matches in advance and save unnecessary contact with cash and our referees etc.
If you have any issues with your team profile in respect to lost/forgotten passwords, incorrect captain details, please contact your area manager on 07341810083 or by email: [email protected] for help to resolve. We will be moving away from cash payments in the short term to ensure your safety and our referees safety also.
Thank you. Football will return! Stay safe and well at home. We will update you again in due course.
