LEAGUE AND RULES UPDATE - JAN 2024

Happy New Year to everyone. For the new year the league has some important news and rule changes to communicate.

Firstly, due to rising costs the league recently had to increase match fees from £28 to £30 seeing roughly a 33p increase per player. We have held back on these charges for the last 18 months but unfortunately can no longer absorb. 

Until March 2024, due to the sharing of the pitch with Cotts Tigers Rugby Club, our kick off times will operate from 8-9pm. We apologise for this yearly change which is sadly completely out of our control. We will return to our normal kick off slots from 7pm at the start of next season. Thank you for your understanding.

We recently reduced the size of the league from 18 teams to 16 to prevent teams having too many points games. We fully expect to increase numbers again when the warmer months return. 

We are however concerned at the lucid nature of some teams with late pull outs and cancellations on the day which causes bedlam to the schedule and equally upsets opponents. 

Effective from next week we are now strictly adhering the head office policy of asking for a minimum of 7-days notice to cancel a game and to not be charged. This now overrules the previous lighter rules of 24 hours notice. Also to try and eliminate on the day cancellations, any cancellations made on the day will see a double penalty of £60 (thus covering your opponents fee) as the lucidity of teams thinking its appropriate to cancel on the day is having negative effects to long standing teams who show up every week without fail & can be disappointed to have too play a points match or worse still no game! 

Please remember that should you wish to vacate your position in the league, as per terms and conditions of your sign up to the league - of which your captain digitally ticks to agree to upon joining - you must pay and play two games to leave. This is a legally binding contract.
