Monday Weekly Update - Week 2

It was week two of the new season of the Monday league, and the first match up was the revival of the young guns! 

2 Girls 1 Schlupp vs La-Lla-Na Land.  2 Girls taking the early lead, a high intensity match followed.  In their last match up La-Lla-Na Land took an equalising goal at the death. This time however it wasn't to be as 2 Girls took a winner at the death.  So at the final whistle 2-0 to 2 Girls 1 Schlupp.

We Arbeloa Lot of Teams came to the park, looking for their first win of the season after defeat last week.  They came out of the gate early and scored 3 goals in the first 10 minutes.  Scholes Galore weren't beaten yet, they fired two back in quick succession. 3-2 at the break. 

The second half was more competitive, the ball was moved around a bit more and the concentration had set in.  It was We Are Brbeloa that took the glory this time around with the final score 6-3.

The Champions returned after a first match defeat last week, looking to take some points from the new addition No Cabbages Just Worldies. Another high intensity match up and both teams were working the ball and searching for the points.  A little bit of ill discipline and a couple of slide tackles saw two No Cabbages players in the sin bin for 2 minutes on different occasions.

It was a tight match throughout, with top class football being played.  The point and the glory in this head to head went to the Champions, Armitage Shanks, taking the game 3-2.

Finally, another new addition to the league Man Chest Hair United, came searching to build on last week' performance and take another win, as they met Green Pete Elite for the first time. It was GOALS GALORE in this head to head, as the guys from Man Chest Hair worked the ball and queued up to take a shot on the goal.  The final result here, and arguable the result of the night, 8-0 Man Chest Hair United.

This season, with new teams added, is already shaping up to be a banger.  Unpredictable at every turn, and we look forward to seeing how this one pans out!

With the new season, we are now running the Fair Play award on a Monday evening.  An update on scores will be posted at the week 4 mark.  Will the winner of the league be the same as the Fair Play winners... we will see!?
