W-S-M Monday Night News Update- Week 2

Great to see all the teams last night and settling in to the routine of 6-a-side.  There was some excellent football played and some great goals to go with it. 

Thank you to all the teams that have registered their players on the website, so far all the 'man of the matches' have been in the system so can be awarded and count towards 'Player of the Season' award.  Like the points table, this will be a close call!

You could all teach some of our other team captains a lesson!

Game one of the night 2 Girls 1 Schlupp versus Barely Athletic was a tight game, 2 Girls scoring an early goal.  Barely Athletic equalised and held as long as they could, but eventually 2 Girls broke the deadlock. It finished 2-1, with 2 Girls taking the win and top of the table.

Second game of the night  Armitage Shanks versus Green Pete Elite.  New comers to 6-a-side football, Green Pete finding their rhythm.  Both teams had some great shots at goal, but both keepers were up for the challenge, and made some incredible saves. The second half proved too much for Green Pete with Armitage Shanks slotting home a few more to make the final score 4-1 at the whistle.  Armitage Shanks sit second, but only goal difference splits them from 2 Girls 1 Schlupp.

The season is really heating up, and we can't wait for next week. Watch this space, this is a league with all to play for!!
