New Season - Week 1 News

In a complete u-turn it was a scorcher on the 3g last night, with the early games enduring the blistering heat throughout their matches.

Premier League

Newly promoted Academicals opened the night against past Champions Tekker Slovakia.  The heat seemed to be getting the better of Academicals as they went 2-0 down in the first half, with Tekker coming out of the gate early.  Following a half time team talk Academicals returned to the field re-energised.  They scored 3 in the second half, with out reply, so took their first Premier League game out with 3-2 win!

Net Six and Chill, another recently promoted team faced stalwarts Nuts United in their first Premier League outing.  It was a well fought Match up of end to end action, and a great start to Premier League life for Net Six, starting with a 1-1 draw.

Finding Mido played the late shift, as they entered Leisure Leagues, directly into the Top Flight!  They faced off against The Good, The Bad and The Ugly, who returned to the season, very much in-form!  A high paced game throughout, Finding Mido were welcomed by a 5-2 drumming at the hands of The Good, The Bad and The Ugly.

Division 1

The Squirells, having taken a step down from the Premier League, back to Championship football, looked more comfortable in these familiar surroundings, and ate Nuts up for dinner, as they handed Nuts United B a 7-0 thrashing in their season opener.

A goaless draw for Expected Toulouse and West Ham Egg N Chips, and a 1-1 draw for Bayer Neverlusen and Chamakh my Pitch Up, look to write the story for the season as the divisions are well balanced, we expect to see some tight results throughout and an even tighter challenge for the title.

Division 2

Ivory Toast vs Mercury Town opened the night in the division with another goalless draw.  Lets be Havin you vs Benteke Fried Chicken was a 2-2 Draw, and AFC Dry Lunch vs Jewventus was a 4-4 draw.

Three draws out of 4 games in the division, also looks to write a story for an epic battle for the season.  Another apparently well balanced division looks to make for a great season!

The only win in the Division was for Chancers, as they saw off Real Lee Sheet with a 4-0 win

Division 3

Weston Warriors chalked up their first win of the season, a 5-0 goal fest against Weston Seagulls.

Hungarians & Co, looked more settled in the lower division, and chalked up their first win of the season in a tight 1-0 win over Not Fast, Just Furious.

An epic Head to Head opened the season for the division, as Where are all the Wags, faced off against a defector from their team, and captain of Fedup United.  This time around it was Fedup that took the glory and the points with a 3-0 win over Wags!

It was, all in all a up and down kind of night.  It was hot and sunny to boot. A number of players unavailable due to the long weekend, we look to return to normal next week!

Lastly, I will remind Team Captains again, that you are ultimately responsible for the actions and behaviour of your players, AND any spectators that you may bring with you.

I absolutely will not tolerate any form of verbal abuse of my staff, be they Referees or Match Night Supervisors! If I get reports of such behaviour, you can expect that you will receive a call from me, and that it WILL be dealt with.

I am doing my very best for you, I am taking into account all suggestions that have been provided to me, and attempt to action as many as humanly possible.  Based on feedback I have been given by a number of you, the leagues appear to be operating in a better way than they have been before, which is testament to all of you as well.  But this works both ways, and I don't think a little respect is too much to ask for.

As always, Melissa and I are contactable at any time
