VIRGINS FC
It was an interesting season to say the least, we had snow days and low days, bright days and cold days, and it all came down to the very last day in the season for many. We had some departures and some new arrivals that proved to shake things up mid-season.
In the Premier League, Groggy took the title after missing out last season, Murder on Zidanes Floor, who were promoted from Division 1 played the season out and took the Runner Up spot immediately. Murder will now take their Summer break and withdraw from the league with a mind to return, come September.
Division 1
Winners, Nuts United B only dropped 1 game all season and marched to the title 6 points clear at the top. This is no mean feat, and they deserve some decent accreditation for that!
Net Six and Chill pinched the Runner Up spot from Academicals in the last game of the season and secure their promotion to Premier League Football. Net Six captain Curtis Bradshaw, also takes the Player of the Season award.
Division 2
In a similar way to the season before, it came down to the final match of the season to decide whether 99 Problems took the silverware. Last time around they were pipped at the post by rivals Bayer Neverlusen, who, this time around, have to settle for second place. This was only possible, because Chancers turned over No Cabbages on the final night of the season. With Neverlusen beating 99 Problems last night, No Cabbages could have taken the title, all they needed was to win by 5. Sadly, for them, this was too bigger mountain to climb. Chancers, taking another scalp in the division!
Division 3
Benteke Fried Chicken, marched to the title with relative ease, and took 13 wins from 14, another team that deserves huge accreditation for this achievement.
Jewventus secure promotion also, with a steady season, finishing 6 points clear of their closest rival in 3rd. A great season to build upon in a division higher. Weston Warriors too have built throughout the season, and climbed off of the Wooden Spoon slot this time around, another great achievement.
We are absolutely looking forward to what the new season will bring. There are some teams departing, and some new arrivals waiting to start, so, this time around, it could go any way.
Watch this space, Divisions and fixtures coming shortly.
Well done to all for the season.... it was a CRACKER!!
