It was a good evening's football in the Worthing Sunday 6 a side league this week, which saw all teams in attendance for their matches as scheduled across all three divisions, the only exception being new team Get Your Koch Out who will now be starting with us on Sunday 22nd May, we wish them good luck in this fixture.
All eyes will be on the top two Premier Division clash this coming Sunday 22nd May as both won their matches again this week, meaning just two points separates the teams! Leaders Fatzio were 7-1 victors over The Tutt Experience but realistically should have the title in the bag due to their superior goal difference, although High Salvington Gentlemen do their best to keep the pressure on as they were 7-2 winners over Lahmageddon. Unnamed FC picked up a big 7-2 win over The Rebels as they move within a point of safety with that result.
Division One leaders She Was Only XI were 1-0 winners over TTM in the battle of the top two, extending the gap to three points as they edge ever closer to the title, meaning there are now three teams battling it out for the second promotion spot. Snorting Lisbon moved into third place after a big 3-1 victory over Ji Sung Park The Bus, moving them above Mas Dog Academy on goal difference as they were beaten 5-0 to bottom team Maradona Kebab. The Defeatables rounded off the action with a big step towards safety after thrashing second bottom Only Matip In by a 6-1 margin to move two points clear.
Division Two leaders Inter Yanan confirmed their promotion this week as they were 4-1 winners over third placed Sompting Dragons, making it impossible for them to catch the leaders now, whilst Posh and Becks Vier need just one more point to confirm their place in Division One next season, they were big 7-1 winners against So Sompting Crew. Breast Rummage Albion secured a mid-table finish for themselves this term as they were convincing 6-0 winners over Coman Her Face, whilst game of the night was saved till last as bottom boys Hakuna Juan Mata shared the spoils in a ten goal thriller, drawing 5-5 with Petr Cech Yourself.
We thank all teams for their continued reliability and commitment to the league and wish all good luck going into the season's penultimate round of matches with Worthing's premier providers of small sided football!
