GOALS AT YOUR LEISURE AS THE NEW BRISTOL 6 A SIDE LEAGUE KICKS OFF

The first of two brand new 6 a side football leagues in Bristol kicked off last night – and it was enough to give the defenders nightmares.

The pick of what people are suggesting is one of the finest opening nights of football that anyone can recall in Leisure Leagues network, was a nine goal thriller. The action swung one way and the other, before Busquets and Tea prevailed by the odd goal in a true humdinger with Eidolon.

There was another high-scoring classic earlier in the evening, as seven goals were shared between Ruud Van Nipplejoy and Brexit Means Brexit, who edged it 4-3 without the need for a people’s vote.

Things were a touch more straightforward in the other games, as UWE Ninja’s must be still recovering from a heavy Freshers week, losing 5-0 to The Works, while Bteckers passed their skill exams with a 4-1 cruise against Crystal Phallus and Terry And Sons also claimed the points.

All eyes now turn to next week as new team Slabheads join, to bring the league is up to full strength, and they’ll be taking on Eidolon who look to avenge their loss this week.

The Thursday night competition will now be a new league on a Sunday too – as the wonderful facilities at Lockleaze Sports Centre play host to what will surely be more thrilling 6 a side football.
