Prestige Worldwide (pictured above) took the eye as they called the tune with a 9-0 victory to take the lead as the Newbridge 6 a side league kicked off.
The Worldwide boys hit the right notes as they danced their way to a thumping win over Mambo 5 A Side, to lay down a real marker in their first game.
Asso Asso also won their game – and sit proudly on the coat-tails of the early leaders –after seeing off Abermawr FC by a 5-0 margin.
The pick of the other games saw the points shared as 2 Goals 1 Cup drew 2-2 with GV Rangers.
Matches continue this weekend, and Prestige Worldwide will look to continue their wonderful early season form against GV, who will be going for their first win, but against tough opposition.
New team Welsh 6 will be looking to get off to a good start against Abermawr FC, while Mambo will surely be looking for better in their clash.
Leisure Leagues Head Of New Business, Jack Bullivant, who oversaw the first night, admitted he was delighted with how it had gone and added: “Everything is set up here to make it a wonderful league. We are proud to have a rich heritage in, and a real affinity with, Wales.”
