They came from all over the country last weekend, as the annual Leisure Leagues Partner seminar took place.
With hundreds of partners running leagues up and down the land, the get together now forms a vital – and welcome – cornerstone of the LL Calendar.
The meeting this year provided a chance to catch up on the huge strides that Leisure Leagues had made in the previous 12 months. The 6 a side World Cup, our teams’ involvement in the Champions League, the expansion of our network both at home and abroad, plus all the website and internal processes we have improved.
But it was more too.
A highlight for everyone, though, was the appearance of Ron Atkinson. Director of Football with the Leisure Leagues powered International Socca Federation, who regaled the crowd with some wonderful stories from his career, but also explained just how important he thought 6 a side football was.
After Ron had posed for photos and chatted with everyone at lunchtime, he stayed for a prize draw, but left before the talks on website improvements and Search Engine Optimisation (can’t think why….!), while there were also presentations on New Business best practices and the work of the partner steering committee.
The day concluded with a prize giving ceremony, which saw:
Achievement Of The Year: given to Richard Scott, for his massive expansion in Portchester where we now have 32 teams across two nights of the week.
New Partner of the Year: Stuart Tuckett: for his impressive work in the Exeter and Exmouth area since joining
Partner of the Year: Shen Yohanantham, who has continued his expansion as well as being a massive part of our partner community (Shen was unfortunately detained by an emergency).
And finally: The Special Recognition Award:
To Steve Hogan. The very first partner back in 2010. He was at the vanguard of a movement that has now well over 100, operating over 500 leagues and catering for millions of players worldwide.
Leisure Leagues is the fastest growing sports franchise and technology business in the world and how many new partners are with us next year we will have to wait and see!
