We’re all missing football – it’s been over a month since a game was last played, but one team from our Chippenham league took it one stage further and were missing the leagues so much, they built their own pitch!

Jack Hughes from the team Out On Bale, in the Stanley Park Sports Ground, takes up the story: “We were missing Monday nights,” he said. “So we built our own home ground.”

The team are based in the Wiltshire countryside, and they got their football fix by creating their own pitch, with Jack smiling as he reasoned: “What else is there to do on a farm?!”

Football will, of course, return – once Covid-19 is tackled – and we look forward to seeing our leagues resume, and millions of you across the world playing again, but if you have come up with anything novel to replace that Leisure Leagues shaped hole in your life then we’d love to hear about it on our Social Media.
