“Thank You Leisure Leagues!” a simple four words, maybe, but from the heart as Dave Trevaskus celebrated winning some signed Mark Clattenburg gear in our latest competition.
The happy winner correctly named ‘Eder’ as the winning goalscorer from the Euro 2016 final that Mark refereed. That meant he won a signed football, shirt and some red and yellow cards, and Dave, a referee himself – told us of his delight: “Really pleased to win the signed cards and shirt from Mark, he’s renowned as our best referee and as an admirer of his, I was delighted to hear I’d won. Thank you to Leisure Leagues!”
That was one of hundreds of correct answers to the competition – one of many we have done in the last few months as we looked to keep people together as best as we could. As we all navigated the uncertainty of Covid-19, Head Of TV, James Coe explained the vital role of Leisure Leagues: “People were missing their 6 a side community, if you will, our social media, plus the prize draws and gave everyone just a little normality. We are delighted to be able to send this prize to Dave.”
Mark Clattenburg, who has just been announced as the new referees chief in Greece, has been a Leisure Leagues Ambassador for a number of years, appearing at the Leisure Leagues powered 6 a side world cup, as well as training our match officials.
There will be another huge competition announced this week, so keep your eyes on our social media channels.
