Nine Leagues Kick Off In Nine Days As Records Are Broken

We are delighted to announce that starting tonight, we will be starting nine leagues in the next nine days.

The unprecedented growth – which has already seen five new leagues kick off after lockdown ended – continues with leagues kicking off across the country at an incredible rate.

Beginning tonight, with a league at Gloucester City AFC, the next week will also see a Gloucester Sunday leagues, a return to Wembley a move to Eastbourne and St Helens for the first time.

These will be followed with a competition in Brackley at the football club next Wednesday, before three more on the 14th, as Stamford, Knaresborough and Ilkley will all be joining the family.

Leisure Leagues Andy Thorley said the firm had been braced for a massive influx of teams after lockdown but added: “The numbers we are seeing are incredible. These nine – together with the five we have already kicked off post-lockdown – are testament to the hard work of everyone, but also the desire of everyone to get out and be active again.”

Andy confirmed that the not for profit firm was anticipating a record breaking month of team entries: “We had a record month in September last year, but April is set to eclipse that.

“You might say that whilst our competitors talk, we have acted, and we are very proud to be moving the nation again.”
