CHIELLINI CON CARNE COOK UP A STORM AS BRISTOL KICKS OFF

The brand new community 6 a side football league in Bristol  kicked off last night, and it was Chiellini Con Carne who who ensured goals were on the menu.

Their 8-1 thumping of against Winner Inner Binner  – in which Dan Bright shone with four –  was perhaps the pick of the games, but there was plenty of superb football elsewhere too.

Indeed, there was a nice symmetry about the scores in the other games, as a Jamie Vowles inspired Brystal Palace, and OUFC Old Boys – who had Liam Cole at his best – both won 4-2, against Rich FC and Netsix and Chil respectively.

Area Manager Stewart West admitted he was delighted with the kick off and added: “It’s great to welcome these teams to the Leisure Leagues family, and this is just the start. This league will going from strength to strength in the coming weeks.”

Stewart added that he was expecting to add another new division soon and thanked everyone at the Marlwood School for their help: “We view it very much as a partnership,” said Stewart and that’s very much been the case here and things are so much better with that level of support.

Teams will now be playing for a range of things, including a spot in the Leisure Leagues Weekly Prize Draw – which is incorporated into the Leisure Leagues Live TV Show, which is broadcast on social media every Tuesday at 7pm.

That is for the future though, next week is all about league points as Richfc take on Netsix while bottom side Winner will be looking to get off the mark against OUFC
