At Leisure Leagues we are proud to be the only league provider that donates our profits to charities and good causes.
We have received praise from politicians from all sides of the house, as well as the Royal Family for our ethical stance, but we are equally proud when our teams do their bit too.
Not all our teams, though, go to the lengths that Route One Rovers in our Worcester Monday league have managed this month.
The community conscious club decided to do something very special to raise money this month and with just a few days left, the boys are really ramping up their efforts – which considering what they have already done is quite some statement
Team member Anthony Redfern takes up the story: “During November we have been growing a moustache as part of Movember and are cycling a combined total of 3000km between 6 of us.”
The lads have almost reached that target too, with just the final push to come, with Anthony adding: “So far we have cycled 2004km, leaving us 996km to cycle in the next few days!”
Anthony said he was hoping that they could hit their funding targets too: “We’ve raised just over £200 but want to try and raise £500,” he admitted.
Whatever they manage to raise, however, a host of worthy causes are set to benefit. The money will be split between the Movember Foundation, Alzheimer’s Society and Motor Neurone Disease Association.
Everyone at Leisure Leagues wishes them well and if you would like to donate in appreciation of their efforts their efforts, they have set up a Just Giving fundraising page: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/routeonerovers
