The players in two popular 6 a side Leagues in Stafford will soon be the newest members of the world’s biggest network of leagues, as they change hands in September.
The long standing competitions at Rowley Park which had been run by Freedom Leisure on a Sunday and Monday will be moving to Leisure Leagues, after the internationally renowned firm was chosen to be the new providers of football in the area.
Leisure Leagues Executive Manager, Shaun Biggs who is personally overseeing the changeover said he was looking forward to getting started, adding: “We are thrilled to be kicking off the new leagues in Stafford.”
Shaun was quick to praise the work of the staff at Freedom Leisure, saying: “We are delighted to be able to welcome the players to Leisure Leagues, and build on the wonderful foundations that have already been put in place.”
New benefits for the Stafford players include the Leisure Leagues Monthly Prize Draw which is broadcast live on the firm’s Facebook Page, and has an all-expenses paid trip for the whole team to a Bundesliga match as the star prize.
In addition Leisure Leagues are the only football provider who donates the profits from the league to charities – with Cancer Research UK and The Dogs Trust amongst the recent beneficiaries.
The Stafford Leagues expand on Leisure Leagues extensive presence in Staffordshire, they have run leagues in Burntwood, Lichfield and Cannock for decades, providing community football to thousands of people, and Shaun commented: “We can’t wait to bring our brand to Stafford.”
