The last new league of 2020 kicked off last night – and Christmas came early for Spen Valley Vipers as they whacked in a perfect ten in Dewsbury.

The Vipers thumped Going Toulouse – who lived up to their name – 10-3, but the performance of the losers gave them plenty of reason to think brighter times to come.

Elsewhere, FC Tekkerslovakia set down a marker, and thumped Unathletico Madrid 6-2, Sands FC got the win they were “dune”, and saw off Pilly Willy 4-2.

The league resumes on Wednesday, and Spen Valley will be taking on new boys Unknown FC in a bid to extend their lead.
