Leisure Leagues is now the only place that you can play 6 a side football at Eastbourne Borough FC after they signed an exclusive deal with the football club to provide small sided leagues to the community.
Leisure Leagues is the largest provider of small sided football in the world, and their Head Of New Business, Sam Jones said he was thrilled to be welcoming the hundreds of players in Eastbourne. “We are delighted to be taking on the responsibility for running the four competitions. We are confident that these leagues will go from strength to strength.”
The four leagues have been run by a smaller league provider and Sam admitted Leisure Leagues were aware of what he described as “the odd issue” but stressed: “that’s all over with now. We will draw a line under that and the leagues start afresh.”
As part of the new leagues, Leisure Leagues – who have been operating since the late 1980s – will be adding all the teams that were top of the table at the time of the takeover to their prize draw, with Sam explaining: “At Leisure Leagues we are absolutely proud to offer the best prizes in 6 a side football. We have a live draw on Facebook each month, with the top prize being a trip to Germany to watch a Bundesliga match. Adding the teams who win their leagues in the old competition is the right thing to do.”
All the leagues will be officiated by qualified referees with all equipment provided, with Sam saying: “We are certain that teams will see a big difference in organisation compared to what they are used to.”
Profits from the league are donated to charities and good causes, including the Dogs Trust and Cancer Research UK.
Leisure Leagues will be running leagues at Eastbourne Borough FC on four nights of the week. The details of all the leagues can be found on this page: https://www.leisureleagues.net/find-a-league/eastbourne
