It was a case of Who Dares Wins as the first ever Leisure League in Keighley kicked off last night.
Not only is that the motto of the SAS, but a team called the SAS stormed home to a 6-2 victory in the first game of what is sure to be a thrilling season.
The goal-filled game against Sargodian was the pick of the matches in the league, which takes place at the Marley Activities And Coaching Centre – but it wasn’t enough to see the winners go top.
That honour goes to Six Offenders, although there are plenty of teams chasing them hard, not least AFC Wanderers, who beat Paralympicos 4-0 in a really polished performance.
There weren’t quite as many goals elsewhere, but Smash An Dash will be hoping to build on their single goal victory over Borussia Dingleberries. Even with the defeat, the spirited losers showed they could do better next time around.
Next weeks fixtures see the SAS battle on against the top of the table Offenders, while someone’s O has got to go as Sargodian and Dingleberries face off.
At the moment there is a special offer of £50 off the entry fee at the moment, and any team who wants to take the last spot can do so by clicking on this link https://www.leisureleagues.net/league/marley-activities-and-coaching-centre/keighley-wednesday .
