IT'S A KNOCKOUT AT THE LEISURE LEAGUES STADIUM

Things are becoming clearer in Crete at the Leisure Leagues powered 6 a side world cup, with just a few games left of the group stages.

After England and Poland went through this morning – the former after a feisty clash with Uruguay and the latter after seeing off Belgium 6-1 – the main excitement remaining will be around the France v China game at 5pm.

There are many permutations left, but effectively it is a winner takes all game, sure to be a cracker as both teams have been impressive so far. The winners will join Scotland in the last 16.

The final group match will see USA play Nigeria at 7pm, but afterwards it is down to the serious business of knockout  matches.

The first one is one for the romantics, as there will samba flair all over the place, with Brazil playing Mexico.

The Leisure Leagues Stadium will no doubt be packed to bursting point as hosts Greece take on Croatia in a game that will be setting the pulses racing, before last year’s runner up, Poland face Bulgaria and England have their second match today, hoping to beat Lithuania, who have done superbly to finish second in a tough looking Group C that also included Wales..

Two things are certain, though. First, there will be a new name on the cup after the shock of Germany, who swept all before them in Lisbon 2018, failing to get through. Second, you will not be able to take your eyes off the action at the Leisure Leagues Stadium throughout the weekend.
