With the further lockdown hitting everyone hard, it is good to have some positive news to share, with the brand new league in Guernsey kicking off in fine style last night.
Last season’s runaway winners, Paralympique Marseille got off to a winning start, but were made to work hard by All Barkley No Bite, before beating them 6-4.
At the other end of the table Fuch’s Sake only avoided relegation by a couple of points last season, but started much better this time around, seeing off Los Diablos by the odd goal in nine.
The two promoted teams both found the going tough. Braden’s Barmy Army lost 2-0 to Substandard Liege, and Expected Toulouse did, 3-2 to Les Green Mango .
Raw AF only find themselves in division one after promotion last season, but could be going through the leagues at speed. Kicking off with a brilliant 9-2 crushing of Alter Domus.
The other newly promoted team, Dienda FC didn’t fare quite so well – although their 2-1 loss to Inter The Pub gave them plenty to build on.
There was another high scoring victory for Bunty Collacks, who crashed in eight goals against No U FC.
Eight was a popular score elsewhere too. Division two saw that score notched twice. Class On Grass dismissed Exeter Gently 8-1, to put them top by one goal from One Foot In The Grave, who put Fridge FC out in the cold with an 8-2 loss.
The action continues next week.
