The Imperial Sports Ground in Bristol 6 a side league kicked off last night, and it means that the venue finally has a league that befits the surroundings
Future Ballers thumping 6-0 victory against Not A Scooby –in which Abel Ionita thumped in a hat-trick – was perhaps the pick of the games, but there was plenty of superb football elsewhere too.
Jose Soria Gomez also tops the scoring charts, after three of his own as Latino’s saw off Puyol Pants Down 4-2 and BS4 beat Bateman Skips 2-0.
Area Manager Stewart West admitted he was delighted with the kick off and added: “It’s great to welcome these teams to the Leisure Leagues family, and this is just the start. This league will going from strength to strength in the coming weeks.”
Stewart added that he was expecting to add another new division soon and thanked everyone at the Imperial Sports Ground for their help: “We view it very much as a partnership,” said Stewart and that’s very much been the case here and things are so much better with that level of support.
Teams will now be playing for a range of things, including a spot in the Leisure Leagues Weekly Prize Draw – which is incorporated into the Leisure Leagues Live TV Show, which is broadcast on social media every Tuesday at 7pm.
That is for the future though, next week is all about league points as Ballers take on Skips, while bottom side Not A Scooby will be looking to get off the mark against Latino’s
