Leisure Leagues – the World’s largest provider of 6 a side football – has announced the expansion of two of its leagues, at the same time as another firm has had to collapse theirs.
The competitions, at Wyre Forest Leisure Centre on a Sunday and Monday, both kick off new seasons this week, with teams flocking to the new divisions as Soccer Sixes have had to admit defeat and end their leagues early.
The newly enhanced competition is adding its new teams in time for the new season and this means over 70 more players can be accommodated.
League Manager Adam Glover said the company is looking forward to the new league and said: “The product we offer is so much better than others, we back that up, and on this occasion it seems that the footballers of Kidderminster agree. We are delighted to house these new players, and look forward to providing the type of football they deserve.”
“We would very much like to thank everyone at Wyre Forest for all their help in allowing us to set up this extra division, the facilities there are really first class and we are delighted that we can make even more use of them.”
A measure of Leisure Leagues standing in the world of football is shown by the fact that the firm has just organized the 6 a side world cup, win by Russia. Held in Crete, it attracted thousands of spectators and 40 teams from all over the world as Adam said: “It really is only Leisure Leagues that can give our players these types of chances, and we will be only getting bigger.
Profits from the league will be donated to charities and good causes, with Jon explaining: “Our leagues are community based and we are delighted to be the only league provider to plough its profits back for the benefit of that community.”
